Age relaxation: 1 extra year for candidates with Intermediate/Bachelor’s qualification (General Duty), and 2 extra years for Shuhada relatives and Driver-trade candidates with a valid driving license.
Physical Requirement

Physical test standards:
- Running – 1 mile in 7 minutes
- Chin-ups – Minimum 3 reps
- Push-ups – Minimum 15 reps
- Sit-ups – Minimum 20 reps
- Ditch crossing – 7 feet
Medical standards: minimum height 5’6″ (trade-specific exceptions apply), chest 78–83 cm after expansion, vision 6/6 (with or without glasses), standard BMI, and medical fitness certified by CMH.

- Lance Naik – performance-based
- Naik – NCO Level
- Havildar – Senior NCO
- Naib Subedar – Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO)
- Subedar – Senior JCO
- Subedar Major – Highest JCO Rank
